björkclub.com features coming soon

look for the following fatures to soon become a part of the björkclub.com community, in roughly the order as presented here. as you can see from the list, we have our work cut out for us over the next several weeks

If you would like to make a suggestion for a new feature, or if you would like to help develop a part of the club or the website, email mystory@bjorkclub.com

  • expanded details of what Army of Björk is all about, our long and short term goals, and a bit of background history about how it got started
  • further details on how to join or start a local chapter, including a map interface to help members find the right chapter
  • updated site map
  • new pages for each club chapter, displaying members involved, schedules of upcoming local events, pictures of past events, directions to local chapter meeting places, etc. Each chpater will be able to design their page in the way that best suites them
  • details of upcoming gatherings revolving around the release of Dancer in the Dark on dvd and Domestika
  • FAQ page with links to answers of commonly asked questions about the club, how to get involved, internet resources available to björk fans, and info about Björk herself
  • comprehensive list of links to online björk-related resources, categorized by the subject matter new contests in the works (the next one being a trivia contest) in which members can compete for prizes (Björk related merchadise)
  • suggestion box for members to submit ideas for how to make the club better
  • more detail on how members can get involved in building the club, with detailed descriptions of how they can help with specific projects
  • a revival of our old grateful grapefruits section, allowing members to post their own artwork, poetry, music and writing for other members to share
  • 6 MB email boxes made available free of charge to all members (yourname@bjorkclub.com)
  • membership card for any member desiring one free of charge (will have to send in self-addressed stamped envelope to receive it)
  • rotating banners on our link pages promoting other björk related websites
  • flash presentation telling potential new members about the club and what it has to offer
  • Quote of the day, Icelandic word of the week, and other frequently changing content displayed randomly each time you visit the homepage
  • resources members can use to help get other fans involved in the club, including downlaodable flyers that can be posted in music stores and school bulletin boards
  • translations of basic parts of the website into other languages, and a general expansion of several resources into multilinguality
